Just as there are many different reasons to install a fence, so there are various types of  fencing available to fulfill these needs. So whether you are looking for residential fencing, commercial fencing, high security fencing or industrial fencing, there is a solution for you.

Most people are looking to put fences around their gardens, swimming pool areas or surrounding their property. Fencing cordons off an area, either protecting what is inside that area or keeping children and pets out for safety purposes. What you want to use your fence for will be the deciding factor in choosing what type of fencing material you need. Another factor is how much wear you can expect from your fence. If you live in a wet or damp area a wooden fence may not always be ideal unless it is well treated and varnished. You also need to think about whether your fence will be in a high traffic area for example in the garden where people often lean against it. If this is the case you will want to make sure your materials are solid and that you have good quality and strong fence postings.

As with any building project, you need to plan and design the fence you are going to build or install. Fences that surround a property can be built using closed boards for privacy or be a lattice fence so that the property is not entirely closed off from view. Another option for those that are trying to keep pests out of their property but don’t want to feel like they are living behind high walls is to have either the classic picket fence, a split rail fence or if your home style permits, a translucent fence that uses either plastic or fibreglass panels that you can see through.

Making the right decision is simply a matter of asking your fencing specialist. You may wish to visit the Fencing Contractors Association website.
