Boiler Repairs
Nothing can ruin your day quite like a broken boiler. A cold shower in the morning is no fun, especially on a cold day. One way to prevent this rude awakening from happening is to be aware of any changes in your boiler at any time. Finding a fault before it gets critical means only minor boiler repairs and will save you money and frustration later on. You should be on the lookout for strange noises or smells coming from your boiler as well as rising stack temperatures. If your boiler safety device is always resetting, this is also an indication that something is wrong and you need to get in a professional boiler repairman.
The best kind of boiler repair is correct maintenance. If you look after your boiler and always check that the basics are in good working condition your boiler can last you a very long time. With a bit of basic knowledge about your boiler system you should be able to maintain and perform some very basic repairs on your boiler. But taking good care of your boiler also means knowing when to call in the professionals.
There are a number of boiler problems that could occur. Some of these may be more serious than others but when you are in any doubt it is always advisable to call a trusted boiler repairman who is properly trained and qualified to repair all boiler faults. The following situations all call for a professional.
If your stack temperatures are very high and go above 350 degrees or if you are finding there is not enough heat being generated, you have a problem. If you have a steam boiler system you may face steam leaks or steam being vented out of the condensate tank. In normal non-steam systems this fault may present as water coming down the stack or the front of your boiler. Some common boiler problems are leaking pressure relief valves and the continuous need for water to be topped up in the boiler. And finally, a sure indication that you need to get someone in to repair your boiler is when your controller needs to be reset all the time or when your low water or high pressure, high temperature cut off switches go off constantly.
